This year’s Convention offers an extensive variety of activities that will run alongside the mart: lectures from notable experts in their field, educational workshops and practical demonstrations, special exhibitions, makers’ fair, and banquet.

Banquet

We are very pleased to announce that our keynote lecture will be part of our banquet on Saturday and will cover the recent restoration of the iconic Westminster clock in London. Keith Scobie-Youngs, director and co-founder of The Cumbria Clock Company, will talk about his company’s part in this incredible project.
Affectionately known as “Big Ben,” the clock tower is now fully restored and the clock movement is now functioning with its original mechanical auto-wind unit.

Lectures

Throughout the Convention lectures will be held in the Commonwealth Salons. We are building a full program and will be publishing the schedule over the coming weeks. Topics will be related to making, collecting, restoring, and repairing, as well as applying decorative finishes to metal objects.

Workshops

Short classes and demonstration sessions will be held throughout the event, with professional practitioners sharing their expertise to guide you through repair processes and other techniques. Some of these sessions will be drop-in, whereas others will require booking ahead. registration details sessions will be announced soon.
