In 1943, three watch collectors formed a club for horology enthusiasts called The Watch Collectors Club. When the club added clock collectors, they changed the name to the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors. Today, the NAWCC has nearly 10,000 members worldwide.

The NAWCC is committed to being the world leader, educator, and advocate for horology and for everyone interested in timepieces and the art and science of timekeeping.

NAWCC MUSEUM

The Museum in Columbia, PA features the largest collection of timepieces in North America – more than 13,000 from around the world, including a German table clock from about 1570. Visiting the NAWCC Museum is the closest you can come to time travel. From prehistory to the space age, the items on display delight visitors of all ages.

Education

Experience the NAWCC’s Mission in School of Horology Classes The NAWCC is committed to being the world leader, educator, and advocate for horology and for everyone interested in timepieces and the art and science of timekeeping.

The NAWCC School of Horology is located in Columbia, PA, and its educational programs serve to stimulate interest in and preserve knowledge of horological crafts. We look forward to welcoming you to future classes.

Research

The Fortunat Mueller-Maerki Library & Research Center (LARC) is one of the largest in the world dedicated to the study of time and timekeeping. The collection includes books, videos, catalogs, periodicals and archival material.

PRE-CONVENTION TRIP

Join us for a pre-convention trip to the Breslin Tower to learn about the Seth Thomas Tower Clock and the Bells on Monteagle Mountain at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, about one hour from the Chattanooga Convention Center.  Meet at the tower at 11 am Central Time, Thursday, June 13, 2024 for a great learning experience with your host, Huntsville Chapter 61 member Keith Henley, who has been maintaining the clock for several years.  Please register soon, space in the tower is limited!  (Registration form coming soon.)

Time & Strike Workshop

Register for the three-day Time and Strike Workshop taught by our own School of Horology’s Ken De Lucca.  The class will begin Wednesday, June 12, 2024, and conclude Friday, June 14, 2024.  A box lunch is included with the fee each day.  All clock materials will be provided.  The student is asked to bring safety glasses, and encouraged to bring a magnifying visor; a magnetic-base, battery-powered, LED desk lamp; and if available a time and strike clock of their own for investigation by the class.  The class is limited to 8 students, so please register soon!   Click “Learn More” below to access more detailed information and the Registration Form.
